I sold all my canon gears and switching to Leica M. And now I find a bargain with New M8.2 and a used M9 with 5000 shutter actuations, they are almost the same price. What do you think and which one you would pick ?

I know the sensor is different fullframe M9 would have the edge and also the high iso performance. But with the 5000 shutter actuations would it be a matter ?

I have recently sold my M8.2 to purchase an M9. And, while I loved the M8.2, the M9 is a far more complete and competent tool.

I'd either buy a cheap used M8.2 and extra lenses or an M9; I'd not consider a 'new' M8.2 at a price that could net me an M9.

One of the obvious drawbacks is going wide with a fast lens

Replicate a 28 F2 on the M8 will mean a 21 Summilux, one stop 'consumed' by the ISO difference ( in practice from my experience 640 on my M8 was similar to 1000 on the M9)

That's heavy and expensive, the 28 Summicron on the M9 is stunning IMO and ultimately cheaper

Thanks for all of you guys. I think it is true that M9 overall is way better than M8.2. Seriously, I prefer also the fullframe on M9. I will definitely go for M9 :)

Hi,

I have to disagree. The M9 is not way better than the M8.2. Quite the opposite. Just my opinion. One of Leica's best made digitals.

I love my M8 and prefer the IQ of the M8 but if I could get an M9 for the same price, I would go for it. The full frame option is a major plus. I agree, 5000 shutter actuations is peanuts.
