Best M8 Sensor Swab Size?

Pardon a possibly stupid question, but which Sensor Swab Width have my fellow M8 Users had the most success with?

 

I have a few swabs left from my EOS 1.6x crop sensor cleaning kit and I have to order some new supplies, but am confused whether to get the wider ones listed at the manufacturer's site for 1.3x sensors or stick with the 1.5/1.6x crop swabs.

I always use one size "down". so 1.6 swabs are most practical for APS-H

Not a stupid question at all!

 

I have one Nikon D3 (fx) that, illogically, is more successfully cleaned with a 1.6 size swab than with the recommended size. My other Nikon D3s and D4's are all cleaned with the full size swab.

 

I don't own an M8, but the 1.6 swab should be ok.

I have used both 1.3x and 1.5/1.6x ones and prefer the 1.3x. Both are fine as far as I can tell.

I just did a clean on my M8 and the swab is still on the stick. 16 mm wide and it worked fine.

 

I could not remove some of the tiny spots, so I did a second clean more slowly and they came up.

 

Go flat to vertical as you sweep like the video on Copperhills site shows.
