skinnfell Posted July 3, 2012 Share #1  Posted July 3, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's been a while since the last M10 wish list post so here we go:  - Nikon D800E-like sensor: (To me leica is a high-resolution camera, not necessarily a low light demon. I suppose if this brings video option and live view, so be it as long as it doesnt add significant cost)  - Less power-hungry electronics. (and/or a better battery)  - M9P form factor (industrial designers be gone!) with rubberized vulcanite grip á la leicas binoculars.  - Some weather sealing (is better than no weather sealing).  - Silent mode á la Canon 5D3. (Lets face it, the current silent mode isnt all that silent.)  I can live without a upgraded LCD screen, sapphire cover, 1DX size buffer, and certainly without autofocus (especially with live view).    What are your five wishes for the M10 ? rramesh Posted July 3, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I hope it doesn't materialize. I am quite happy with my M9-P.
Peter H Posted July 3, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I hope it doesn't materialize. I am quite happy with my M9-P. Â It won't be compulsory to change it you know! Â

Peter H Posted July 3, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted July 3, 2012 Red cherry no doubt. Â I'll swap mine for the M10P with the black cherry.
Phil U Posted July 3, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I hear the black cherry will be a 1000 euro upgrade but you do also get royal icing instead of the standard soft stuff that is easily damaged. All things considered, it represents tremendous value.

All things considered, it represents tremendous value.  We take the piss but the truth, sadly, isn't a million miles away. Do you remember the big deal Leica made of the red dot on the Titanium M9 – it was supposedly made from something like hand polished glass and had a whole chapter devoted to the making of it in the accompanying promotional brochure. mjh Posted July 3, 2012 Share #11 Â Posted July 3, 2012 And if the current trend continues, the M10 may not even have a red (or black) dot.
Phil U Posted July 3, 2012 Share #12 Â Posted July 3, 2012 supposedly made from something like hand polished glass and had a whole chapter devoted to the making of it in the accompanying promotional brochure. Â Only Leica*!! Hand carved from unicorn bone by vestal virgins etc etc.... Â *oh, and Hermes, of course.
charby57 Posted July 3, 2012 Share #13 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I would greatly appreciate a smoother release of the shutter, such as in an old M film camera. Â And a quieter shutter noise wold not hurt... Â Pierre
earleygallery Posted July 3, 2012 Share #14 Â Posted July 3, 2012 The last Hermes M did away with the hot shoe. Â Continuing on that theme I'd like to see the Hermes M10 as just a curvy piece of polished metal (imagine a large beach pebble) with an M mount and a shutter button. Â Maybe a small link to hang it on a gold chain from ones neck?
IWC Doppel Posted July 3, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I hope it doesn't materialize. I am quite happy with my M9-P. Â If it does, I am quite happy with my M9-P. Â But I would covet and when I hit 100k actuations like : Â 1. 3mm thinner with a neater screen and menu installation and 50-100g lighter 2. A mechanical beautifully engineered very accurate non electronic viewfinder that can accomodate 21-90mm with perhaps a stepped mechaincal zoom at above/below 35 or 50mm 3. One stop better ISO performance with a sensor that has a similar or better look to the M9's CCD. 4. A better LCD screen 5. Slightly quieter shutter that can do 1/8,
spylaw4 Posted July 3, 2012 Share #16 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I would guess that the spec for the M10 (if there is to be one at Photokina) is by now fully set in stone. Speculation is useless IMO.
bpalme Posted July 3, 2012 Share #17 Â Posted July 3, 2012 I would guess that the spec for the M10 (if there is to be one at Photokina) is by now fully set in stone.Speculation is useless IMO. It's still fun to talk about it...no wait not on this forum. Let's not speak of this again. Â New M needs an LCD upgrade and live view. Don't want these things? Don't use it. I won't be popular with the never change anything crowd for this.
pico Posted July 3, 2012 Share #18 Â Posted July 3, 2012 Continuing on that theme I'd like to see the Hermes M10 as just a curvy piece of polished metal (imagine a large beach pebble) with an M mount and a shutter button. timberline12k Posted July 3, 2012 Share #19 Â Posted July 3, 2012 1. Higher resolution LCD with Live View 2. 24MP -36MP sensor 3. ISO 100-6400 4. Slightly smaller and lighter body 5. Quieter shutter
diogenis Posted July 3, 2012 Share #20 Â Posted July 3, 2012 My only wish for the M10 is, to carry that GigaPixel sensor as the ultimate answer to those recent pesky attempts by some makers D800 etc etc
