Jeff Phillips Posted June 9, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, Yesterday I noticed that the red lens release button was missing from my M9. The metal lever with the red dot that sits beneath it (shown in this picture) was being held in place by the lens, and I have since removed it for safekeeping. Has this ever happened to you? The camera works just fine, but the lenses don't "click" when they're mounted, which makes it a foolish proposition to continue shooting with it. If I hadn't lost the red button, it would be simple to reattach. But I'm a bit afraid of what it would cost to send to Leica service to have this work done, so I will propose a silly question: Is there somewhere that I can order this part? Thank you! Bill W Posted June 9, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 9, 2012 A small flat head screw with the correct threading would work as a temporary I would think. Email the picture to Leica and ask for a replacement. Since it is user replaceable, I would think they would just send you one.
ChrNil49 Posted September 23, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 23, 2013 Jeff, same thing happened to me today, what was the outcome for you. Did Leica send you the part or did you have to send it in?
