Guest Holy Moly Posted May 28, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi, I'm really sorry that no one answered your question. I'm living in Germany near Dusseldorf and made several short trips to the capitals of european countries. Rome is missing.......but too far away....... So be patient.......... Tim B Posted May 28, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2012 Hi, Max. I'm sure it would be great for Leica users to meet in Rome as you suggest. I was there for a few days a week ago and had a great time as usual. Despite the crowds it is a fantastic place. The Eternal City holds a special place in my heart. Looking around at my fellow visitors all with their thousands of cameras of all sorts, I saw only two other Leicas, one was definitely M8 or 9 and the other definitely film M, but too brief a glance to tell which model. Were they tourists or locals? Probably one of each, but who really knows. I hope that you manage to find some other Leica users for a group meet in Rome - I'd love to join you, but maybe another year. Tim
earleygallery Posted May 28, 2012 Share #5 Posted May 28, 2012 Well there are definately some members who live in/near to Rome. I would try re-posting with a more direct title such as 'Forum members meeting in Rome' and see if that grabs their attention. You live in a fantastic city by the way! luigi bertolotti Posted May 30, 2012 Share #10 Posted May 30, 2012 Far from Rome... . but a meeting of we Italians would be a nice idea... we are not so few here in the forum... I am the top Italian poster , and being a frequent surfer, I'd say that the number of Italians that do appear rather regularly is in the range of 12-15... dr. rOb Posted June 2, 2012 Share #11 Posted June 2, 2012 Hi everyone, I live in Emilia Romagna, and I would like to see a forum members happen in Italy. Maybe in the Summer a few members from abroad may choose Italy as destination and join the meeting! Let's keep the discussion alive and let's hope for more people to join in ! Here in Emilia Romagna we are dealing with the earthquake these days so the thought of a members meeting it's a refreshing one. It's like thinking about a pleasant trip. By the way I could also suggest to make the forum meeting in Italy itinerant.. Let's discuss! Take care, rOb

Gibbo Posted July 14, 2012 Share #15 Posted July 14, 2012 One of you needs to bite the bullet and set a date, time and place. Then sit back and wait to see who turns up Otherwise you'll be sat here ten years from now saying 'what a good idea it would be .....' Just a suggestion

luigi bertolotti Posted July 20, 2012 Share #20 Posted July 20, 2012 Just to launch a (not so original) idea, 22-23 September are the days of the PhotoCine fair in Novegro (Milano).... usually a good exhibition of historicals (I was there 2 or 3 times in the last 10 years, about).... not a "fine location", but a rather good meeting point...
