This will improve ones photography in general. Then when the M10 is released in the fall (hopefully) then it will be a must have for its color depth and range and high resolution. In fact somebody once said if you want to learn about light in photography shoot only in B&W for a year. The time has come to buy the M9M, the time has come to sell the M9 color while a good price of between $4000-$5000 can still be obtained before the majority dumps the M9 at release for the M10. Â I still stand by my earlier predictions that the M10 will be a truly amazing camera, it will be the one that will give Leica massive sales at least doubling the M9. If your prediction is correct and a majority of M9 owners will dump their cameras in favor of the M10 then I am firmly in the minority. Â 2. Curiosity only really, 35" Mac anyone ?  I don't shoot JPEGs, even basic, as they substantially slow the write speed, taking longer to clear the buffer, but if I could shoot DNG only with a B&W preview that would be wonderful. Â Well, contrary to your view, I am considering buying another M9 soon to complement my existing one. Just waiting to see if there is a price drop. I can't seriously see how an M10 can improve on the M9, at least for me. Everything you mention is already in the M9. Â The majority will NOT dump the M9, simply because it is so excellent. And this is exactly what the marketing department at Leica wants. Â 2. What really will improve your photography is shooting a mechanical camera, like an M2 or M3, but then you would have to use that evil stuff called film. Then I think the price will climb back up a bit after the initial gotta have the newest camera people settle in with their M 10. I think the price difference will be to great for most to dump M9 for M 10. I'm already losing thousands and then buy an M 10 to watch fall 1k immediately. I'll just stick with the M9. Â "Learning about light" and "improving one's photography in general" or shooting in "B&W for a year" is best done in a intro to photography class with a manual starter camera and a 50mm lens, like a K1000 or an FM (or an M if you have one...) and tri-x. Â Â I was shooting yesterday with 1600 . Saw the capture in Lightroom 4 and was amazed by the good looking grain. So I'am not really waiting for the M10.
