fuerst Posted July 18, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, This is my first post on the new forum so I figured I’ll post something different. Soon after I got my LC1 about a year and a half ago, I wanted to try pushing it as far as it will go. So I took it to one of my favourite places in Saint John - a small, family owned diner with a peculiar homey atmosphere. So, a year later, I finally decided to actually do something with these photographs and the result is this multimedia presentation for a tiny independent on-line publication http://www.coalfish.ca - the only independent media in town. It should appear there on Thursday, but I thought I’ll give you a preview. http://web.mac.com/bojanfurst/iWeb/Reggies/index.html Everything was shot RAW with LC1 at 400 ISO and often “pushed” to 800 ISO. Processed in RAW Developer (Thanks Imants for the tip!) and PS. Some of the resulting tiffs have been adjusted with Nikon Capture NX as well before exported into jpgs. I am not happy with the sound, but this is the first multimedia project I did and I still have a lot to learn. C&C would be very much appreciated and welcomed. I hope you enjoy it. Bojan P.S. As a bonus you get to hear my Eastern European accent too [EDIT] The presentation is about four minutes long.

jmr Posted July 19, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2006 Bojan, the presentation is good. The pace is fine and there's an interesting mix of people giving their points of view. Some of the colour shots look a little noisy, I guess they're the ones you pushed. Overall, I think I have the feel of the place; which is what you were after, I guess. mgcd Posted July 19, 2006 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2006 Bojan - This is a really good feature story, all the elements of the multimedia presentation are in place. I would suspect that the sound distortion is most likely due to the medium at this stage. There is certainly good rythm to the visual and spoken narration, and they complement each other well. I'm glad to see that some are heeding the call to get more tools in their arsenal. I'm convinced that, to some degree, convergence is the way to go. pierovitch Posted July 19, 2006 Share #4 Posted July 19, 2006 This is definitely what Leica photography is about. I can feel the warmth of community from the other side of the world. Cheers Pierre
fuerst Posted July 19, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted July 19, 2006 Thank you John. That was exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you for the compliments Conrad. These are certainly interesting times. I feel very much out of my comfort zone when it comes to sound. I have a good friend who is a CBC radio producer and we are trying to arrange some sort of an informal 'internship' over the next couple of months because there is so much to learn about sound. This presentation was an interesting experiement. I did find that editing process was different because of the sound and the medium. Pierre, your kind words just made my day!
