If there is no explicit exclusion of any responsibility of the car maker for damage or whatever for pets, food or other things left in the car trunk I'd do it. And then sue the pants off that car maker in case something happened. To be on the safe side, don't put all your eggs into one basket. Take two or three of the bodies with you into the passenger room, and throw some lenses in, for good measure.
