The ring was loose so I found a tiny screwdriver (to repair eye glasses) and I tightened the screws. No more movement. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Â You have to take a look at these small screws every now ans then or they can loosen and fall out. Â When I discovered that these screws were loose on my hood, I removed them and applied a bit of blue Loctite to the threads with a toothpick before reinstalling them. This resolves the the issue. A minor point until people confuse the issue and start applying Loctite in the wrong place. Â It is a known problem that the front ring of the 28mm Summicron can become loose. I re-read the reply of michali after placing my order............too late, I already ordered it ..:  I did not cancel my order since I think the cause of loose screws on the lens is due to the force movement of the hood when inside the bag.....at least if the hood is round and not square, no big movement will occur inside the bag....that's only a wild guess....
