Vintola,

The Leica Chronicle (Kindle) ebook is available at the weblink Stephen supplied. It took only a couple of minutes from clicking the link to reading it on my Kindle app on my iMac after paying £6.00 through Paypal. The down load is around 35 MB.

Can anybody enlighten me as to how I can add it to my Amazon Kindle library so that I can download it to my iPad please?:o

Assuming you have the Kindle reader app on your iPad, just add the file to the Kindle Documents in the Apps compartment of iTunes when your iPad is connected. When you sync the file will be transferred to your iPad. On my Mac the file lives in [user name]- Library-Application Support-Kindle-My Kindle Content

P.S. In case it helps, you should be seeing something like this in iTunes.

The downloaded folder from Mr. Puts includes two files, an epub and a mobi version. From iTunes I simply selected "Add to Library" and pointed to the location of the epub file in my downloads folder. The book then appeared in my ibooks library. I then selected it to be sync'ed with my iPad and voila, like magic I was reading about Leica history. The whole process was exceedingly simple.

iBooks: Yup, once I realized to select Books, not PDFs, in Collections.

I can browse the kindle version on my computer.

How does one transfer it to the kindle application on an iPad?

Thanks.

Just flipping through it and skimming a few entries I see a couple humorous witticisms, differentiating this piece from the somewhat dry Compendium. Worth the 7EUR in my opinion just for the fact that I can have some valuable info on my iPhone and iPad

Can it be bought directly from the iPhone?

You can purchase on the iphone but the download is a zip file which can't be handled with and directly opened with iBook nor any iOS ebook reader.

I had to clicked on the link in the follow-up email, download, uncompress the file and finally import it using Kindle reader.

Puts has put this warning on his site...

"Do not use the iPad for buying and downloading: safari seems to have trouble with the zip-extension. buy and download from a pc or mac and transfer to iPad with iTunes."

Compendium Table of Contents And a description of the expanded coverage.

Leica Chronicle Table of Contents Scroll down the page to see book excerpt and description of the forthcoming series.

See post #31 above for one suggested distinction. Puts says the content of the new book is "new and not a recycling of the Compendium."

Anyone know more about the 2011 lens compendium, I am tempted as there is one for sale on ebay but want to know what extra it might tell me over and above 'Soul and sercrets' and the Leica Chronocile £6.99 e-book that I have

I have both and haven't done much evaluation, it could take many hours. I would suggest you look at the table of contents of each, that might be a good start. Personally I enjoy using the printed book as a reference, and would rather read an ebook from cover to cover due to size/weight. The printed version is also beautifully printed, although expensive will be a lifetime reference and is valuable in deciding equipment purchases.
