farnz Posted May 23, 2012 Share #21 Posted May 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Vintola, The Leica Chronicle (Kindle) ebook is available at the weblink Stephen supplied. It took only a couple of minutes from clicking the link to reading it on my Kindle app on my iMac after paying £6.00 through Paypal. The down load is around 35 MB. Can anybody enlighten me as to how I can add it to my Amazon Kindle library so that I can download it to my iPad please? Pete.

euston Posted May 23, 2012 Share #22 Posted May 23, 2012 Can anybody enlighten me as to how I can add it to my Amazon Kindle library so that I can download it to my iPad please? Assuming you have the Kindle reader app on your iPad, just add the file to the Kindle Documents in the Apps compartment of iTunes when your iPad is connected. When you sync the file will be transferred to your iPad. On my Mac the file lives in [user name]- Library-Application Support-Kindle-My Kindle Content
euston Posted May 23, 2012 Share #23 Posted May 23, 2012 P.S. In case it helps, you should be seeing something like this in iTunes. Welcome, dear visitor! StephenPatterson Posted May 23, 2012 Share #24 Posted May 23, 2012 The downloaded folder from Mr. Puts includes two files, an epub and a mobi version. From iTunes I simply selected "Add to Library" and pointed to the location of the epub file in my downloads folder. The book then appeared in my ibooks library. I then selected it to be sync'ed with my iPad and voila, like magic I was reading about Leica history. The whole process was exceedingly simple. kokoshawnuff Posted May 24, 2012 Share #31 Posted May 24, 2012 Just flipping through it and skimming a few entries I see a couple humorous witticisms, differentiating this piece from the somewhat dry Compendium. Worth the 7EUR in my opinion just for the fact that I can have some valuable info on my iPhone and iPad

philipus Posted May 25, 2012 Share #34 Posted May 25, 2012 Can it be bought directly from the iPhone?
sdai Posted May 25, 2012 Share #35 Posted May 25, 2012 Can it be bought directly from the iPhone? You can purchase on the iphone but the download is a zip file which can't be handled with and directly opened with iBook nor any iOS ebook reader. I had to clicked on the link in the follow-up email, download, uncompress the file and finally import it using Kindle reader.
Jeff S Posted May 31, 2012 Author Share #36 Posted May 31, 2012 Puts has put this warning on his site... Jeff S Posted July 16, 2012 Author Share #38 Posted July 16, 2012 Compendium Table of Contents And a description of the expanded coverage. Leica Chronicle Table of Contents Scroll down the page to see book excerpt and description of the forthcoming series. See post #31 above for one suggested distinction. Puts says the content of the new book is "new and not a recycling of the Compendium." Jeff
IWC Doppel Posted July 17, 2012 Share #39 Posted July 17, 2012 Anyone know more about the 2011 lens compendium, I am tempted as there is one for sale on ebay but want to know what extra it might tell me over and above 'Soul and sercrets' and the Leica Chronocile £6.99 e-book that I have
darylgo Posted July 17, 2012 Share #40 Posted July 17, 2012 Anyone know more about the 2011 lens compendium, I am tempted as there is one for sale on ebay but want to know what extra it might tell me over and above 'Soul and sercrets' and the Leica Chronocile £6.99 e-book that I have I have both and haven't done much evaluation, it could take many hours. I would suggest you look at the table of contents of each, that might be a good start. Personally I enjoy using the printed book as a reference, and would rather read an ebook from cover to cover due to size/weight. The printed version is also beautifully printed, although expensive will be a lifetime reference and is valuable in deciding equipment purchases.
