JHAG Posted April 1, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted April 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) My DMR fires up normally when pressing the shutter release. But when pressing the release again to take a picture, nothing happens. Shutter is inert. Dials and screen are on, but no shutter. Am I missing something, or is this a fault and direct to Solms of what ? Last time I used it, some weeks ago, there was no problem. Â Found it Stupid me inserted a SD-HC card instead. jaapv Posted April 2, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted April 2, 2012 I tried to use some non-HC 4 Gb cards (yes, they do exist) The DMR won't have them:mad:

jaapv Posted April 2, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted April 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Normal old-fashioned SD cards are becoming fewer and farther between, now. In camera shops yes, but they are still common in other applications, like navigation systems.
graeme_clarke Posted April 2, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted April 2, 2012 You can still get reliable makes such as Sandisk 2GB from reliable suppliers. I bought 6 before the last firmware update supposedly lifted the ability to 4GB - but not SDHC. I can't add anything to Jaap's experience as never bought any of them at the time and I can't find any non-SDHC 4GB cards now. Â Graeme
ryee3 Posted April 3, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted April 3, 2012 Related question... what SD cards currently available work well with the DMR? I'm looking at buying a stash of them for an upcoming trip. Â I bought 4 GB Memorette SD cards on eBay from Korea at a very good price. They worked great on the DMR and appear to be very reliable:D!!!
jaapv Posted April 3, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted April 3, 2012 Memorette cards are the ones that did not work on my DMR. Nor on my M8. Four of them- all bad.
ryee3 Posted April 3, 2012 Share #11 Â Posted April 3, 2012 Memorette cards are the ones that did not work on my DMR. Nor on my M8. Four of them- all bad. Â Jaap, sorry to hear of your experience:( Â I have six 4 GB cards that I purchased a couple of years ago without problem. I have used them on my DMR, Digilux 2 and 3 without any issues. Last night I searched on eBay to find them again online and no SD non HC were listed:confused:. Anyone else have other sources for these SD cards? Â Memorette I think or thought is a reputable Korean company and maybe someone else can comment on their experiences. Jaapv, did you order direct or from eBay? May not be worth your time, but I would send them back to Memorette with a nice note representing our forum of users. We still will need these cards in the future. Maybe someone else is making and selling fraudulant cards. Â ryee3
jaapv Posted April 3, 2012 Share #12 Â Posted April 3, 2012 I ordered them from Memorette direct. I got a good impression of the company as well. Given the low price I did not send them back and really did not bother going into the problem deeply.
roguewave Posted April 13, 2012 Share #13 Â Posted April 13, 2012 The best cards I have ever used are the Transcend SD 4GB cards (150x). Yellow face. They have never failed me. Even had 3 of them trapped in the washing machine & they still work perfectly. I bought 10 of them, many at discount prices as they are only salient for a certain niche. I highly recommend them. I use them exclusively with my DMR & NEVER had a problem.
