jdlaing Posted March 31, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted March 31, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stumbling thru the shop looking for something else.......there she was. A lovely 9 centimeter Elmar f/4 from circa 1957. Pristine leather. No bang marks. Beautiful glass. In the bubble case. When my friendly sales person, with whom I have a history, showed it to me I looked at it a while and gave it a quick inspection. He asked if I was interested and when I made a face he said "let's bargain for a sale". Â A fast 200 and we were out the door........ Â Â 2012 minus 1957 equals .....holy smokes ..... 55 years give or take. Â I am slightly older than this lens and I wish I was in as good shape as this lens. Â Samples in a couple of days but on a few quick snaps I am greatly impressed.

Bill W Posted April 1, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted April 1, 2012 I wonder if it was considered a "compact" lens in 1957?????

k-hawinkler Posted April 1, 2012 Share #5  Posted April 1, 2012 Congratulations.  I like the lens. It's very nice, a little soft in the corners. Mine is from 1956 and I got it from a friendly forum member. Here are a couple landscape shots with that lens. 2011.04.01 Panorama Truchas - winklers' Photos  Enjoy yours.
