Advertisement Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Hi ns_ng, Take a look here LUF Book 2012 - ongoing sales. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
StS Posted March 22, 2012 Share #122 Posted March 22, 2012 I'm holding my copy in the hand now, the book itself is a fine piece of art. The svelte font on the cover works out very well, the black background is impressive as well. I also find the grouping of the images on each double page very well chosen. And yes, the premium paper is certainly the choice to go for. Congratulations and thank you very much for the hard work. Stefan
vdb Posted March 22, 2012 Share #123 Posted March 22, 2012 Andy, received my copy too. Bravo my friend, bravo! The pairing of images brilliant. I know how much time and effort goes into this. A wonderful piece of work that represent the LUF beautifully.

euston Posted March 27, 2012 Share #127 Posted March 27, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’m very impressed with the quality of the production. Some of the photos are outstanding and there is enough variety of subject matter and style to give it wide appeal. I shall certainly be promoting it. The premium paper is an improvement on the paper used in the 2010 book, though I did prefer the white background colour. The black paper in the 2012 book suits some of the photos but white paper might have been preferable for others. I can appreciate the dilemma if you are obliged to opt for one or the other. andybarton Posted March 27, 2012 Author Share #128 Posted March 27, 2012 Thanks, Robert. The background is a matter of taste, to a large extent, and we did debate which way to jump. I had done my own book on a black background last year and I have to say that I prefer black to white. We could have gone for a grey, but that probably would have suited shots even less universally. There is no right answer, to be honest. Some of the people, some of the time, and all that. andybarton Posted April 4, 2012 Author Share #133 Posted April 4, 2012 "Dear Andy, We really like your book, “The Leica User Forum Book 2012 (12 inch Edition: Premium Paper).” In fact, we'd like to know if you would consider giving us approval to reproduce and use your book for our marketing purposes. Blurb would use a copy of the book for meetings at Blurb headquarters, as visual for our in-house library, within marketing materials, and at industry conferences. Essentially, when our executives are traveling or have meetings in-house, they like to have samples of books—like yours—that they can show to people as a good quality example of what people can create with Blurb. Please note, our executives will not directly sell the book. Any purchase inquiries that we receive regarding your book will be directed to your book details page and will be available for purchase provided the book is marked “public.” To give your consent please sign and return the attached contract either via fax, JPG or PDF. If this is not of interest to you, please send a quick note letting us know. We hope your experience with Blurb has been great. We are constantly making improvements so that we can offer an unparalleled product for our users — we understand the passion and time you put into your book creations. We’d love to hear the story behind your book. Please include in your email a couple of lines of how your book came about." I will accept their offer, as the more people that get to see the book the better, and I will do them a piece about the gestation of the book. Given the number of books that must pass through Blurb's system every week, I reckon that this is a real coup for us and is a completely independent testament to the quality of what we have achieved here. PS - we are in their "Staff Picks" section now, too http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/featured

graeme_hutton Posted April 4, 2012 Share #140 Posted April 4, 2012 What a great endorsement Andy. When my book arrived it had slight damage to the top spine which I guess happened in transit. Blurb were excellent in promptly dealing with my concern and have sent a replacement book post haste and no quibbles. A great company to deal with.
