I just took a look at the images in contention and I pity the judges who must make their decisions, I for one couldn't pick the 10 best or the one hundred best. We sure have so many great photographers here on L- Camera Forum So Good luck to all. :)

I have now received the final piece of the jigsaw, but will not have time until mid-week to complete the edit of the few minor typos. I have been away from home for a week, and couldn't do anything to it then.

By next Saturday, you will be able to but the book - sooner if I can get it finished.

The book will be widely advertised here and in the social media.

There will be various editions and sizes at various price pints, all of which will include a £10 contribution to the charity. It may take a little while for me to get the smaller version together, depending in how easy Blurb have made the resize function.

Thanks to everyone for their patience. I am delighted to inform you that the first size of Leica User Forum Book 2012 raising money for the AICR Charity is now available.

To date, only the large square format is available, and it will take a little time to reformat the document for the smaller square format. The large version is obviously the more expensive one. The second, smaller, version should also be available in soft back, as well as the dust cover and image wrap versions available in the larger size. Several forum members have seen the proof copy that I have and have commented favourably on the Premium paper (the more expensive version) and the printing.

£10 from the sale of every book, large or small, goes to AICR.

We have considered an eBook version too, but I am concerned about the security of the images embedded in such a publication and we have therefore chosen not to offer one at this time.

Andy, it's disappointing for those of us who live in places where shipping is slow and expensive that an eBook version is not available. I understand there are always concerns about security and copyright infringement, but I believe those who submitted photos understood that it would be published on Blurb and that eBooks are common in the digital age.

Also I don't think the preview should be limited to just the first 15 pages. IMHO it's not fair to the other photographer's whose work is not previewed and does nothing to help entice people to buy in order to see the additional images. In fact being able to preview the entire book can encourage sales, as people see a small, low res image that speaks to them leading to the sale of books and eBooks.

As someone who has purchased Blurb eBooks in the past (including yours!!!) I hope you will reconsider this decision.

Cheers, and congratulations on what appears to be a stunning book. I know you have worked long and hard to make this happen.

Thanks for buying my eBook - I wondered who you were! I can't be responsible, and neither can the forum, for the theft of images from an eBook - I think that many would be mightily upset if that were to happen. Obviously, it's easy to scan a photograph in a printed book, but to lift a shot from an eBook from Blurb is just too simple I'm afraid.

My best thanks for the hard work of making the book project happen again and supporting a worthy cause. I can fully imagine the effort, which went into this project. This is very much appreciated.

Cheers Andy, yours is a wonderful book.

As to eBooks from Blurb I think we live in a world where intellectual theft can and will occur regardless of the locks and constraints placed upon the innocent. It is actually more dangerous to have images printed in high resolution and distributed than to fear the low res crops that might be lifted from a screen capture of a blurb eBook.

I implore you to rethink publishing an eBook version as a lower cost alternative and more easily and quickly distributed version of this stunning piece of work!!!!

To those of you who have images published in the LUF2012 Book (and my congratulations to you all) I would ask that if you feel as I, that distribution should not be limited to the printed page at $100+ and that eBooks are the best form for wide distribution, then please write to Andy and let your feeling be known.

I'm trying to order a copy on Premium Paper but paper quality is listed as standard. I’m not seeing the Upgrade to Premium Paper option. How do I order a copy on the higher quality paper?
