Jeff S Posted February 29, 2012 Share #21 Posted February 29, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) But LR has no photoshop functionality. I have both, but use LR for 95% of my needs, which others meet via PS; I'd say that's plenty of PS functionality, just with different means. LR4 beta moves the needle even closer with soft proofing, moire removal, etc. I use PS less and less with every LR iteration. But these are personal preferences, much like a lot of photography. Different strokes. Jeff

jaapv Posted March 1, 2012 Share #22 Posted March 1, 2012 PS if you look on the Leica site you will get the exact focal length then multiply by 4/3 The 28mm is nearer 38mm, the 35mm is nearer 47mm, the 50mm can close to 69mm The focal length will never change, just the crop aka field of view. pgk Posted March 2, 2012 Share #24 Posted March 2, 2012 I frgot. If you use the M8 on a tripod then I'd really recommend an Arca type QR plate - mine have them permanently attached.

RobertJRB Posted March 4, 2012 Share #27 Posted March 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) As for Lightroom, The M8 came with a license for capture one 4 (I guess, might be 5) I find this program to give more pleasing results and to me its the best RAW converter there is. Capture one is more aimed at pro users (hasselblad ect.) so is not as easy to use as Lightroom is, but after some time its a great program to use. The licence you got with the camera can be upgraded to the latest one (C1 6 or C1 6 pro) I got the C1 6 pro version, but the C1 6 version can do everything you need. Price is I think 60 euro for an upgrade to C1 and 299 euro for a C1 to C1 pro upgrade
