The first three are on Devil Island, and the last is on Paulet Island, Antarctica. The only penguins endemic to Antarctica are adelies and emperors. All other penguin species range considerably further north, including the Galapagos penguin, which rides the Humbolt Current as far as the equator. shot with a borrowed V Lux 2

Stuart,

The quality of your photography goes without mentioning but what I want to know is the bedrock smooth because of the centuries of penguin traffic or did it bubble out of the earth and immediately harden so smoothly? Funny what these long boring dry Winters do to my mind.

I think all four were with the V Lux 2, which was not my camera. My R8/DMR and 80-200 were overlong in service so Leica lent the V Lux to me. In a way I considered it a hostage in case I needed leverage when returning from the trip. I did not need the leverage.

My R8/DMR and 80-200 were overlong in for service. They had little available to lend to me other than the V Lux. In a way I considered the camera a hostage, providing me some leverage when returning from the journey. As it turned out, no leverage was necessary, and as usual, my treatment by Leica was otherwise first rate. They even paid for the shipping of the V Lux both ways.
