stuny Posted February 22, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted February 22, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The first three are on Devil Island, and the last is on Paulet Island, Antarctica. The only penguins endemic to Antarctica are adelies and emperors. All other penguin species range considerably further north, including the Galapagos penguin, which rides the Humbolt Current as far as the equator. shot with a borrowed V Lux 2 Â Visit our site to see many more Antarctica photos. albert Posted February 23, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted February 23, 2012 Stuart, Â The quality of your photography goes without mentioning but what I want to know is the bedrock smooth because of the centuries of penguin traffic or did it bubble out of the earth and immediately harden so smoothly? Funny what these long boring dry Winters do to my mind.
Iduna Posted February 23, 2012 Share #9 Â Posted February 23, 2012 Stuart, Â very good shots. I prefer the first one for its hearty touch.
stuny Posted February 23, 2012 Author Share #10 Â Posted February 23, 2012 Al - thank you. The rocks with the last one are exposed to the tides and waves, which probably accounts for their smoothness. Â Iduna - Thank you.

netsrot Posted March 1, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted March 1, 2012 Did you use the V-Lux 2 for this pictures? The quality is really bad in nearly every aspect. Too sad you picked up this camera. Â I am not sure what you other guys are talking about...
stuny Posted March 2, 2012 Author Share #16 Â Posted March 2, 2012 N - Â I think all four were with the V Lux 2, which was not my camera. My R8/DMR and 80-200 were overlong in service so Leica lent the V Lux to me. In a way I considered it a hostage in case I needed leverage when returning from the trip. I did not need the leverage. stuny Posted March 2, 2012 Author Share #17 Â Posted March 2, 2012 Torsten - Â My R8/DMR and 80-200 were overlong in for service. They had little available to lend to me other than the V Lux. In a way I considered the camera a hostage, providing me some leverage when returning from the journey. As it turned out, no leverage was necessary, and as usual, my treatment by Leica was otherwise first rate. They even paid for the shipping of the V Lux both ways.
