It's a fantastic combination IMHO. I use the 28 Cron and love the results. Also use the 21 Elmarit quite a bit on the M8. However, 80% of my shots are taken with the 28 ... it is the classic M combination and there is really nothing to complain about. :D

Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the replies..

I am recovering from a small op so no chance of getting out.

Here's a few pictures in the house, our new Bull Terrier Bella making friends with my old, grumpy Patterdale....

All shot after dark and I'm so surprised at immediate lack of DOF @ 2.8 makes you concentrate on what your actually focusing on.

The picture of Bella on sat on her own is heavily cropped, wow very surprised at the results and in poor light....

Seriously impressed with the M8...Please take on board I'm still a learner....

Yes - mine too!

Then, for me, the next best is a 40mm Summicron C (ex - CL lens)

I would have to chime in that I'm liking the 40 C focal length so far, but my efforts with it have been only preliminary.

I also would say that the lens' diminutive size takes some getting used to - especially if one's fingers are big. Once 'sorted' the ergonomics will be quite easy, but my few out-n-abouts with it haven't gotten me there yet. I occassionally grab air in search of the focusing lever which is much closer to the camera than the focus ring of just about every other lens I've ever used. :-)

Very Glad I purchased it.
