pedaes Posted February 10, 2012 Share #4 Posted February 10, 2012 What exactly do you want to know? You can make some educated guesses from Leica official advertising etc. For instance, the M9 in the DP Review of Sept 09 has a 50 'lux 4055144, and Dec 11 is 4149xxx. IkarusJohn Posted February 12, 2012 Share #8 Posted February 12, 2012 Interestingly, that site was unable to identify my 50 Summilux, S/N 4107173. I bought it from Ken Hansen in November 2010 - he'd literally just received it, and offered it to me. Cheers John
MarkP Posted February 12, 2012 Share #9 Posted February 12, 2012 Hi John, Leica Australia replaced mine not so long ago after stuffing up warranty repairs over a period of months and the new one's sn 4136xxx also isn't recognised. That's why is wrote the site might help. Mark
IkarusJohn Posted February 12, 2012 Share #10 Posted February 12, 2012 Quite right - I wasn't being critical. I've often wondered to what extent Leica allocates these numbers sequentially. I know bands of numbers get allocated to products, but once allocated, do they strictly follow the numbers in order when allocating them to individual numbers? Or is it random?
