Eastgreenlander Posted February 10, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Im not a professional photographer and I do not know the photo industry but it makes sence for me that video adaptation is important http://www.dpreview.com/articles/9982656990/no-future-in-photojournalism-interview-dan-chung I really do hope Leica will implement video to a exsisting system or what ever they have in the works. Advertisement Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Hi Eastgreenlander, Take a look here Dan Chung on photojournalism. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted February 10, 2012 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2012 Apart from video on the Panaleica's I don't see how Leica are really appropriate to the video camera market - if that's your bag, there are plenty of other, better options out there. Of course Dr Kauffman has his movie camera lens business, on the back of the Leica expertise, so there may be camera offerings through that company down the line. That is the point. It's not appropriate for the video camera market but for the stills photographer looking to expand ones creative field. You can always say "better options" for stills too. algrove Posted February 11, 2012 Share #4 Posted February 11, 2012 I sure hope Leica stays away from the video market on their M line. If they don't they begin to look like every other camera company. Like someone else said, leave video to all the other whatever brands that keep upping the video ante every six months or less. I'm old school. Use a video camera for video and use still cameras for stills. Just my opinion.
lct Posted February 11, 2012 Share #5 Posted February 11, 2012 The next mirrorless Leica should do video i guess. Rangefinders are another story.
iforum Posted February 11, 2012 Share #6 Posted February 11, 2012 I'm old school. Use a video camera for video and use still cameras for stills. A DSLR type of camera produces a cine feel ie there is ample control of DOF with a video camera in the same price bracket/field there is not that same control or capability. One of the better combinations is the Panasonic GH2.
