Greetings!

I would like to seek the advices from the fellows here, on what filter type should I use on the Voigtlander 50mm F2.5 Color Skopar?

I am using the LH-2 hood on this lens, and I know the filter size is 39mm. However, it seems a typical 39mm UV filter rim is too thick which will obstruct attaching the LH-2 hood. Shall there be any 39mm UV filter with a thinner rim which can be used on this lens and also allows attaching the LH-2 hood? Or there is no other choice and I need to give up this idea?

Thanks in advanced.

I only use Leica and B&W 39mm filters the rims of which have the same thickness apparently. Now there is a filter thread at the bottom of the hood for 40.5mm filters if memory serves but i may be wrong.

Inexpensive plain and vented (below on the CV 50/2.5) screw-in hoods together with hood caps are easily available. The hoods must be screwed onto the filters though.

Same with Heavystar plain hood & hood cap linked above.

I thought about getting deeper (aftermarket) hoods for the lil' Skopars, but in the end I always decided not to - as they kill the biggest reason I own them... Their small size!

39mm filters *should* fit fine with the stock hood, but you have to remove it first. Screw in the filter, then replace the hood. Naturally, some might be slightly larger than others but that's more of an exception than a rule I'd say.

Here with the stock hood and a B+W 39mm IR-cut filter.
