Quite some time ago the M4-P suffered from some incorrect rumors regarding its build quality and the prices were so reasonable I got a black one and without a second thought, blacked out all the white lettering (lacquer stick). I put an Abrahamsson Rapid Winder on it and it is the slickest Leica I own.

It's a great, smooth, rugged setup. I'd get another but I'm up to my ears in Leicas!

You say that like it's a bad thing... :p

Regarding Paul's question about the M4-P ("Any stuff to watch out for?") the only thing I have encountered with my M4-P is that the flat non-slotted screw that retains the lens preview lever has a tendency to back out. A couple of times I have discovered the preview lever dangling at the 6 o'clock position.

I considered applying blue (non-permanent) Loctite to the threads but was advised not to by Sherry Krauter. For me, the solution has been to remain vigilant for this issue and to manually check/tighten this screw by hand once or twice a day when using my M4-P.

Thus far I have not lost the screw or the preview lever. According to what Sherry had to say, she has not encountered this issue very often, so this may be a quirk that is unique to my particular M4-P.

Other than that one minor concern, it has been an outstanding camera. IMHO you can't go wrong with an M4-P.
