Does that mean I am going to run out and sell all my Leica gear to bye a new 1DX? The answer is no of course not. Nor does it mean that I will sell all my Canon gear to purchase a new M9P either (is temping though).

I recently had the opportunity to take a day trip into the mountains and took along my 5D2 which has mostly been collecting dust. Well I found out I still love to use the camera and that the image quality really is quite wonderful. The reality is that over the past couple of years I have been mostly shooting with a RF camera which I now prefer but the 5D2 still has a place in my heart it's just a different tool for different types of photography.

Just though I would share :)

Thanks. I do have a few R lenses and use them on my 5D2. You are correct that it does give good results. I especially like the 80 Summilux but bit of a challenge to get sharp focus.

There is a Canon focus screen that aids manual focus. Have you tried that?

I used a Brightsceen on my 5D mk I when I used it with R lenses. Pricey, but a big improvement on the original.

Is the brand name actually "Bright Screen"? Looked them up online and you are right they aren't cheep. But if they work well it could be worth it. Thanks.

And from memory you got an absolute bargain <grin>

I did indeed thanks to eBay. <grin>

Did you give him my 28 Elmarit too?

No, Steve didn't sell me a 28 Elmarit-R(?), Andy, I already had one by then I think.

Pete.

I have a Canon 1DsmkII that I use my R-Summilux 50mm and my vario Elmar 80-200f4 with and the results are mind bending. I have been toying with the idea of selling my R stuff but know I would cry for about 2 years after it goes.
