I had the LC1. Very intuitive. Yes, a lousy electronic viewfinder, yes it lacked any useful buffer to allow for more rapid shooting, and yes, the lens at times presented some pretty strong barrel distortion. But like you, I took many of my best photographs with it. I wish I'd hung on to it, but sold it as part of my firesale to pay for my M8. Should have hung on to it, particularly as a backup to the M8 while traveling.  Has anyone out there had much experience with both the D2/LC-1 and the $600 hard to get D-Lux 3? Â I have an LC1 and LX2, the Panasonic versions of the Leica twins, and I find the shooting speed for RAW images to be about the same for each using my least-expensive-available Polaroid 2GB SD cards. I haven't performed any formal timings, of course, so that's just my rough feel for it. Â As for image quality, I find the LC1's images to be clearly superior to those from the LX2. On the other hand, the LX2 will fit into a pants pocket (even if it's a bit uncomfortable to carry around this way because of its lens bulge) whereas the LC1 has a tough time fitting into even a jacket pocket. A large jacket pocket. Â All in all, I'm still very impressed with the LC1's image quality. I was processing some of my images from my recent vacation in Kauai earlier today and was knocked out by how great they look. It's too bad the LC1 only has a 5MP sensor as I'd love to print some of them much larger than the 6.5" x 6.5" I'm limited to unless I up-res the files or print at a lower resolution and sacrifice some image quality. Â Now that I think about it, at one point, I was shooting the same scene with both cameras because the LC1 doesn't have OIS and when I get home from the office later today (gotta pay for my vacation somehow!), I'll look to see if I have any that are suitable for a direct comparison. I shot these (and 50+ others, most of which I find equally attractive) alongside the trail running behind Larsen's beach while my girlfriend was sunbathing.  The north end of Larsen's is a(n unofficial) nude beach and for some reason, the people there didn't seem to appreciate my walking around with a camera so I had to find other subject matter to photograph and these are the result.  That they all turned out as well as they did was a bit of a surprise to me, as I shot handheld using fairly slow shutter speeds and assumed they'd all be at least soft, if not fuzzy...
