Guest joewehry Posted June 15, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted June 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) LFI has an iPad / iPod app to download from iTunes store for free. It links to the master shots for S, M8 / M9 and X1 camera series. Very nice and easy to use. Hopefully will add other systems, or an option preference pane to turn on or off camera systems that you fancy. (At least add the M7 and MP, too.) vintola Posted June 16, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted June 16, 2010 Yes, that was very nice to have something about Leica in the iPhone & iPad. I have earlier tried to find something, but apparently nothing has been there till now (except of course Leica User Forum). Â What about Leica Camera AG's pages there. - vintola -
stuny Posted June 16, 2010 Share #4 Â Posted June 16, 2010 Of course this will re-start the Apple is buying Leica rumor.
rosuna Posted June 16, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted June 16, 2010 What is the exact name of the application?
Guest WPalank Posted June 16, 2010 Share #6 Â Posted June 16, 2010 What is the exact name of the application? Â "LFI". Â It's nice that hey have both an iPad and iPhone app. Â I'm hoping that LFI Magazine will come up with a digital issue available through the Zinio store. My current issues arrive via snail mail weeks if not a month after they arrive to subscribers in Europe.
Riccis Posted June 17, 2010 Share #7  Posted June 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) "LFI". It's nice that hey have both an iPad and iPhone app.  I'm hoping that LFI Magazine will come up with a digital issue available through the Zinio store. My current issues arrive via snail mail weeks if not a month after they arrive to subscribers in Europe.  While a digital issue will be cool and hopefully another revenue stream for them, what attracts me the most to LFI is the high quality paper it is printed on...  Cheers,

Cheers,  Yeah agreed. The Summarit-S 120mm portrait pictures in the 05/2010 issue are amazing. Mindblowing in fact. It will take a 4th generation iPad with ultra-high res screen to come close! vintola Posted June 17, 2010 Share #9  Posted June 17, 2010 It would be very interesting, if someone (who can) will do an application for iPhone and iPad, where there are photos, names and years of manufacture of every Leica camera, lens and accessory from the beginning. Like a mini Lager. I am willing to pay for it. - vintola -

Overgaard Posted June 20, 2010 Share #12  Posted June 20, 2010 Yes, very nice app. Who took the shots of you (holding the iPad), Thorsten?  It's my intern Per Joe holding it, so I took them.
Lucklik Posted June 23, 2010 Share #13 Â Posted June 23, 2010 Sorry guys but I don't like the app. There are only pictures taken with S2, M8, M9 and X1. What with the pictures taken with other Leicas? Â Second why is the camera with wich the picture was taken soo important? On the internet we'll see (in almost all cases) no difference between pictures taken with the different cameras. Many pictures could be taken with a Dlux, the only diffence (we will see on the internet) will be the DOF
Mauribix Posted June 23, 2010 Share #14 Â Posted June 23, 2010 It's my intern Per Joe holding it, so I took them. Â You seem to have the world-wide-unavailable Apple's iPad sleeve. Lucky you men! grrrr
peterv Posted June 24, 2010 Share #15 Â Posted June 24, 2010 Though I'm thankfull to LFI for making this app available for Free AND right away for both the iPhone AND the iPad, I'd very much like to see an M Analog button/chapter. IMHO that would also help profiling Leica as a versatile brand.
John Thawley Posted June 25, 2010 Share #16 Â Posted June 25, 2010 Personally, I found the app very disappointing. Certainly functional... but aesthetically, sub-par. A Leica app should have a "virtual" gallery feel... a museum-like quality. This app has neither, nor does it take full advantage of the power of the Apple developer's kit. Â IMO. Neopan Posted October 12, 2010 Share #17 Â Posted October 12, 2010 Today an updated version of LFI for ipad / iphone was released which allows you to download a free copy of the September issue as a digital download. Â Christian
Guest WPalank Posted October 12, 2010 Share #18 Â Posted October 12, 2010 Thanks for the heads up. It took my two attempts at downloading the Digital Issue for my iPad, but it finely worked. Sweet.....
peterv Posted October 13, 2010 Share #19 Â Posted October 13, 2010 It's very nice that LFI magazine is now available in the iPad App. I will continue buying the paper version too, because the photo's are viewed much better in print. It's very handy to have both *
