IWC Doppel Posted January 21, 2012 Share #41 Posted January 21, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't forget Ken uses his sites as his prime (I heard somewhere, only) income stream. This will have some influence on what he says and how he says it. I really like his specs and factual analysis, his opinion and other points less so. Advertisement Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here Did Ken Rockwell a M8 hater?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted January 21, 2012 Share #42 Posted January 21, 2012 He seems to feel that people enjoying websites like this one do more "discussing" than "photographing". Maybe he's right. There are more posts in the photo forum than all the others put together.

pico Posted January 21, 2012 Share #45 Posted January 21, 2012 KR has welded his reputation as a character. Don't take him all too seriously. Sometimes he's a hoot, humbling, harassing, but never boring.
Jeff S Posted April 4, 2016 Share #46 Posted April 4, 2016 I find KR an idiot at best His "reviews" are essentially worthless Ive never yet seen a decent pic by him Those that can ....... He'd be pleased that you revived the conversation after a 4 year hiatus.....he thrives on the attention. Jeff
tobey bilek Posted April 8, 2016 Share #47 Posted April 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Of course, if you are specialized on infrared photography. But I am missing the special correction dot for infrared photography on most (all?) Leica M-lenses. My old Canon-FD-lenses have such dots - or is this not necessary for M? The proper focus point is easy to find experimentally. It does depend on the particular lens, but usually around the 5.6 mark. I put a red ink spot there. The spot moves depending on the film sensitivity and filter in use. Settle on one combination.

Use one film, do the best we can and all is good. The technicalities trickle down to the vociferous nerds who don't even look at the images. .
