Thanks Kurt. I think a quote from Washi21 on RFF sums it up beautifully:

I've seen loads of stunning pictures from this camera ,enough to satisfy me that when it is attached to a brain that can use it, it somehow manages to produce wonderful images.

It has brought my photography to a higher level -and I've been taking photographs for over fifty years. Talk about old dogs not being able to learn new tricks - debunked by Leica.

My second day with the M8 and the 35 mm 1:2. I am still in a learning curve with this great new toy..

In a dark church, high in the mountains. Silence, no flash, no tripod, just me and the M8....

Jan,

congratulations from another old man still learning new tricks.

As others mentioned, the hills of Netherland have completly changed.

Would you please be so kind to communicate the dates of your church-photo - I mean ISO, shutter etc.

Great shots !

Thanks

6 days and counting...

No problems so far here in cold North. For that reason, I am taking my M8 to Miami for a serious testing at South Beach/Little Havana... Stay tuned for samples:)

I couldn't be happier. As I think I've mentioned elsewhere, with my very well-equipped DSLR outfit, I increasingly felt like I was merely holding up a photo taking machine.

With the M8 I feel like I'm a photographer again.

It was a great 'companion' during my recent trip to the southwest. Shot was with a 24 Elmarit and polarizer.

The images on this thread are the best publicity for the M8. I've really enjoyed them. I remain extremely happy I purchased the camera. Here's a shot I did today with a 50mm Konica Hexanon lens (not an expensive Leica lens) and even with this lens the results couldn't be more pleasing.

Cheers,

Wilfredo

Great photos from the dutch alps, India ect. and a very impressive image above. Thx for posting this to Guy, Jaap and Wifredo and the other participants.

Results like these are the best advertisement for the M8 I can imagine. Much better than the hunt for mistakes which was really getting boring after some months.

Best
