Here's a curio I found on Don Goldberg's spare site. It's a ring designed to allow the aperture on a 50/3.5 Elmar to be adjusted with a large filter on. (DAG's part number is DAGMS17.)

Pete.

Indeed it is the VOOLA and one I just found is mind-boggingly expensive!

Leitz 'VOOLA' diaphragm setting ring to adjust aperture on 50mm f3.5 Elmar. Condition 3-4/D £65.00

Think I will keep looking for a Walz filter...

Don's is offered for £10.

19mm filter is relatively hard to find to me.

I'm using a SOOGZ+VOOLA+12549 combination since it's compatible with all of my E39 filters.

I've just placed an order for a vintage 19mm Y1 and Y2 set which may came from Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar back in 1920-1930's or so. Does any of you using this setup as well?

In my collection of miniature filters I found a 19mm filter of an unknown make.
It fits the Elmar, but the filterring is so thick that I have to worry for vignetting.

On the filter ring is engraved: 19x55 Gg.
inside is a loose orange coloured filter glass.

Thanks for your valuable further reference. I might get this filter later. I'm considering an E39 Infrared filter instead at the moment.

On the other hand, the Early Leitz *1 and *2 filters arrived and they works like a charm now.

I'm not 100% sure that these filters were made by Leitz Wetzlar even though the seller's descriptions listed as:

  • Leica Yellow  E19mm  Nr.1 FIRHE /13001

  • Leica Yellow  E19mm Nr. 2 Firmy

The original box is very different from my understanding at the moment. Any further confirmation would be much appreciated.

BTW, another Konifilter Y0 makes my 19 mm filters more complete on its arrival 3 days ago. It's rare and the image quality really impressed me indeed.

This design of box came before the regular red boxes.

Thanks you so much for your confirmation. I guess that I'm lucky enough to use these filters.

One follow up question here, mine box and filters are with a star on it which is a bit different with yours. Is there any major difference that it made?
