Stealth3kpl Posted November 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) There's some dust in my old 35/2 mk IV. How much should I expect to pay Leica to service and clean it? Pete
Advertisement Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Hi Stealth3kpl, Take a look here Leica Lens Service. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
glacierparkmagazine Posted November 10, 2011 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2011 Are you in the U.S.? If so, don't send it to Leica, send it to Leica DAG (Don Goldberg Camera). He's great. The lens will come back spotless. Cost runs around $100, depending on what he has to do to it.
bill Posted November 10, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 10, 2011 Since you are in the free world, try CRR Luton, or Malcolm Taylor. Regards, Bill

M. Valdemar Posted November 10, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 10, 2011 Even a large amount of dust won't make any difference in your images. Unless the lens is hazy or the focus is not accurate, just leave it alone and save your money. It is impossible to see the difference between a dusty lens and a clean lens on film or in digital files.

If you mention it in an ad then the assumption will be that it's really really bad!
