Advertisement Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Hi bpalme, Take a look here Where's your favorite travel photo destinations for street?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jager Posted October 23, 2011 Share #2  Posted October 23, 2011 New York City.  I've only been there once, for five days on a workshop with Thorsten Overgaard. But I instantly fell in love with the place. Astonishingly rich in street photography opportunities. I can't wait to go back.   Welcome, dear visitor! Ecaton Posted October 23, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted October 23, 2011 Manhattan. There is no other place in the world with more diversity and everything within a few square miles.
earleygallery Posted October 23, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted October 23, 2011 London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona or pretty much any busy city in the world will do. But you can find great subject matter in smaller places too, holdsy resorts are also good territory as are festivals and fairs etc. (insert irrelevant pic here). eyedeebee Posted October 23, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted October 23, 2011 I agree with James - any busy area usually offers plenty of opportunities, but I'd also specifically add Prague.

I may be doing Spain next year. I have to agree with the New York comments... there seems to be something going on all over the city.
Ecaton Posted October 23, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted October 23, 2011 All these who mention NYC, do you really mean NYC or just part of Manahattan (south of Bronx). Seriously, who of you has ever been to Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island? And who to the Bronx or Harlem with your precious Leica?
bpalme Posted October 23, 2011 Author Share #9 Â Posted October 23, 2011 All these who mention NYC, do you really mean NYC or just part of Manahattan (south of Bronx). Seriously, who of you has ever been to Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island? And who to the Bronx or Harlem with your precious Leica? You can get some good photos in those areas too but there's just so much more going on in Manhattan. I lived in Queens for a bit.
Peter H Posted October 23, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted October 23, 2011 I like to find myself in a city with enough time to get a feel for it. Â Its sometimes hard to avoid unconsciously trying to replicate famous images when you're in a wonderful city like NY, Rome, Paris, London etc., especially if you have limited time. Â I hope to find somewhere that triggers my own imagination. It often happens in the unlikeliest places, so I'd recommend avoiding the world-famous cities and trying to find something that you can connect with somehow. Â Hard, but rewarding. insomnia Posted October 23, 2011 Share #11 Â Posted October 23, 2011 I also like NYC. Been there in April 3rd time and became friends with my M9, will come again in November for photographing only. I'll be staying in Brooklyn and want to capture the other boroughs this time too, last time I went to Central Harlem, but didn't go very deep as I had my girlfriend with me and it was quite unspectacular for her. Â Â Â Please click here for the entire gallery (mostly street or whatever you'd like to call it).
vonheim Posted October 23, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted October 23, 2011 I prefer small Italian cities. Como, Lucca, Sienna, and so on. Â Great places where people have walked the piazzas for centuries, but at the same time have a great mix of people going to work, spending time socializing in the streets, doing business in the streets, etc. Â Cheers, Â Knut
Wallyvision Posted October 23, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted October 23, 2011 +1 And don't forget the queen of them all, Venice. What makes these places special are the backgrounds for whatever one wants to shoot.

I may be doing Spain next year.I have to agree with the New York comments... there seems to be something going on all over the city. Â They're all my favourites! I think Madrid is much more interesting than Barcelona if you're heading to Spain, but why not do both?
TomB_tx Posted October 23, 2011 Share #15 Â Posted October 23, 2011 Glacier National Park is more the "street" photography I prefer;)
farnz Posted October 23, 2011 Share #16 Â Posted October 23, 2011 If you're intending to do Spain I'd recommend Granada, Segovia, Ronda, Seville, Tarragona from personal experience and Cordoba from a friend's experience. All offer good opportunities for street shooting in addition to the more obvious but more shot Spanish locations. I think you'd find San Sebastian and surrounding towns in the Basque region difficult because people are naturally more suspicious owing to ETA's continued attacks. Â Pete.
