There is that timer or watch ticking sound after the shutter release which I've read is expected (correct me if I'm wrong). If the buzzing sound after the shutter has closed is even and lasts for 1.5 or more seconds, the works are probably O.K. Still, only use will give the proof that all is well (or otherwise). cbretteville Posted October 7, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 7, 2011 Shoot a roll of colour slide film and exercise all the shutter speeds. That should give you an idea. That said my 1957 M3 came back a lot better after a trip to DAG, in particular the contrast in the VF/RF was a lot better. Must now be like it was when new.
