anyone had experience with them?

Welcome to iGavel

They seem to have amazing stuff there. And I do not mean the 2 Elmax Leicas :) ,I would not buy them. But some other items are interesting. However they ask to provide credit card number including CCV. Therefore if anyone have experience with them pls share.

thank you

I was lucky enough to win a couple of (Leica) auctions on iGavel a few years ago and everything was absolutely perfect, including accuracy of the item description, handling of further info request(s) and the best packaging. Lady Amanda was a delight to deal with.

I bought from them on two or three different occasions and the level of service was always excellent, absolutely spotless.

thank you, your feedback is valuable. We could dispute accuracy of item description, their statement "partially restored" for Elmax 459 or "very good restored" for Elmax 1017 is misleading - in both cases rstoration included new top plate, body shell, etc - both look very "Russian". On the other hand there are some elements that seem to be genuine, from the time. So I'd rather categorize it as very unprofessional restoration that missively reduced collector value.

Anyone buying from this auction?

I've picked up , I think, 2 Leica Near Focusing Devices NOOKY-HESUM and Pleasant Auto-Up SUPER NOOKY, all in maker's boxes for $118 plus shipping and tax.

Got another two bids in for later on so fingers crossed.

That's me done guys.

I got Three Leica Close-Up Attachments including ADVOO, comprising two SOOKY-M with maker's boxes, one with NOKUM adapter, and one ADVOO for IIIg in leather case.

Cost me $208 plus shipping and taxes.

Spent about £392 in total plus shipping and taxes for all three lots.

There was an mint and boxed, unused I think, MDa sold for $175 plus buyer's premium which I though was a complete bargain to be honest.

Leica MDa Chrome E7RBLBB - Item #: 2304423

Isn't that strange syncronicity - the two items that I would have gone after were the mint MDa and the Mint 135 f 4 (mint other than the slight shiny marks on the filter mount !! :)) - it's a small world...!!

I have bought from them previously and found them very professional.

The real star of the show for me would have been the screw mount 50 Summilux, Rare Leica Screw Mount Summilux 50mm f/1.4 Chrome SOWGE E7RBLAC - Item #: 2304212

which would have gone very nicely with my 8-element screw mount summicron 35 :o

Hi Robert,

I thought the auction was excellent and pretty easy to follow because if a bid on an item was made within five minutes of the close then the time on that item was extended by five minutes so you could see if an item was going to sell and for how much.

I almost bought the MDa as I could see it was going to go for what it did go for the only thing that stopped me was that I hadn't done any research on it and wasn't sure if I could easily sell it on but a camera in that condition with the makers box for that price was excellent.

I bid the on the 135 Elmar on the basis that there was another lot with two poor Elmar 90s and a mint 135 Elmar which were going though about an hour after the one I bid on so if I lost out on the first one I always had a chance to buy the second (better) one.

That lot went for $400 so you were effectively getting the two 90s for about $75 plus postage of course which you easily sell for about £80 each if you wanted too.

There were also some fantastic buys on ERCs and boxes and I think a XOOM went for $124 plus buyer's premium and shipping etc however there is one in Leicashop Vienna at the moment for about 290 euros in fact there were some really good buys on lens hoods in general.

Tony

BTW, that price for that lens is that a good one for a buyer?

Generally the older, longer lenses seem to sell for comparitively less than some of the more popular lenses but I'm sure that a Mint 135 would sell for a good price, as would a mint MDa.

As for a mint Summilux with native screw thread.....

The prices generally seem to have been very reasonable. It was a good antidote to the many online and eBay dealers who specialise in hyperbole and ludicrous asking prices. There was, as noted above, some silly money being spent, but that was generally for super rare items. I hope this will be a good benchmark for dealers in future to value their offerings by.

They sell items from ambitious collectors, that makes the difference for me. In my eyes, the risk of getting bad stuff is much lower than on EBAY or even at "standard" camera stores

who have to sell ALL Leicas from their standard clients (which are not only collectors) to sell them new stuff. The prices are very good for the "less exotic" items. I visited them a couple of years ago,

when they had their first big Leica collection on auction. Very friendly and kind people and highly professional auctioneers too.
