fotografr Posted February 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My wife has a cold sore at the edge of her lips and won't let me anywhere near her with my camera, so I had to enlist the aid of a friend to help me test my M8 with the Nocti @ f1.0. martinop Posted February 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 14, 2007 Like the bokeh and its warm color tones + overall colors & DOF + the expression of the lady.

lmr Posted February 14, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 14, 2007 Brent: I see that you either got another M8 or got the last one fixed. Too bad we may not be able to use DAG on the M8.... maybe later. This is a good test of the M8 + Nocti... any IR block filter?
gverdon Posted February 15, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 15, 2007 Wow, the eyes... I see intelligence and humanism. Lucky man. Gérald

gepetto Posted February 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 15, 2007 Brent you could have assured your wife that you could photoshop out any cold sore and make her look years younger. I am glad to see Leica finally caught up with you.
billh Posted February 15, 2007 Share #9 Posted February 15, 2007 Brent you could have assured your wife that you could photoshop out any cold sore and make her look years younger. It is easier to tell her no film is in the camera.
fotografr Posted February 15, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted February 15, 2007 It is easier to tell her no film is in the camera. That's pretty good, Bill. Unfortunately, she learned long ago not to trust me in these matters.

Too bad we may not be able to use DAG on the M8.... maybe later. This is a good test of the M8 + Nocti... any IR block filter? Thank you, Robert. This was without the IR cut filter, as I haven't received one yet. Leica were able to repair my M8 by replacing the electronics that were faulty. Seems to be working just fine now. I doubt that Don will be able to get repair parts or instructions on fixing the M8. Leica does not willingly release such data.
samwells Posted February 15, 2007 Share #12 Posted February 15, 2007 Brent - lovely warm portrait, and the bokeh's wonderful, too! (Alas, my wife will hardly ever let me photograph her, ever since I took what I thought was a really characterful candid shot of her!) cheers: Sam

I had a very similar experience with my wife. Unfortunately, I posted the shot and later made the mistake of showing it to her. Things were unpleasant here for a couple of days after that.
