sandro Posted September 22, 2011 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2011 David, you make me jealous, wishing that sale was near me.... When things get sold for such nice prices you should perhaps pick up the Telyt 200. You can use it with the Visoflex, and also the lens head can be used for macro. Good luck! aesop Posted September 22, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...not entirely sure you will be able to access all this hardware from "the other side", David. businessasusual Posted September 23, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 23, 2011 If your wife says "That's great honey, what makes you happy, makes me happy" - check her jewellery collection.

Ronan Posted September 23, 2011 Share #13 Posted September 23, 2011 Where do you guys find those estate sales... i have NEVER seen or heard of one except on forums... Closest i have been too was a auction for the stuff of some lonely dead rich guy. The stuff went for thousands... tens of thousands... I'm in Montreal... jaapv Posted September 23, 2011 Share #14 Posted September 23, 2011 You need to stop at the jewellers on the way home- flowers are too blatant. Be sure you have a comfrtable sleeping place in the garage and a crate of beer.
pop Posted September 23, 2011 Share #15 Posted September 23, 2011 As you mentioned above, using a NOOKY is way cheaper than using a BOOZE. You appear to be suffering from GAS. There's no known cure.

Closest i have been too was a auction for the stuff of some lonely dead rich guy. The stuff went for thousands... tens of thousands... I'm in Montreal... Tulsa Oklahoma... I think that the odds are better here because Tulsa enjoyed a post war economic boom and the oil and aerospace industries attracted men who were high paid engineers and particular about the quality of the equipment they used. Some also were in Europe and Japan when the dollar was almighty. This year I have picked up a Contax IIa color dial with immaculate f1.5 Sonnar, a miranda sensorex in near mint condition and the visoflex. But I am texting from the long, dark night of the soul. In Australia they are held normally on a Saturday morning (sometimes Sunday) at residential homes and are sometimes run by the families of deceased relations, to sell off their unwanted possessions. "Car Boot Sales" are another potential source. Check your local newspaper.
someonenameddavid Posted September 23, 2011 Author Share #18 Posted September 23, 2011 Well into the second day of wandering in the wilderness. I also got some small trade type magazine literature which had been mailed to the original owner directly from Wetzlar. Several brochures including the small Leica Chronicle... In Ok condition and includes one apparently _never_opened_ ooooOOOOoooo. Wondering if anyone out there would like them. No cost but I will only mail them in the US. If you decide they are fun you could mail back some photo trinket of your estimated equal value. David (The brochures are around the introduction of M6 and R4) And if anyone has bits of a Mentor camera they don't want, I have the other bits. NB23 Posted September 24, 2011 Share #19 Posted September 24, 2011 One day I will start my own thread about how I purchased an Original Leica MP for 2.50$ at a garage sale. Of course it will be all lies but everyone is going to believe me so who cares? Give me a few months...
