Birthday Hike

Happy birthday, Peter. 26th, isn't it (difficult to tell from your avatar)?

Excellent series with terrific colors, details, bokeh, 3D effect and framing. I'll be sending the bird photos to a friend in the wilds not far from Sacramento who as an avocation helps rehabilitate raptors.

Which camera(s) and lens(es)?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes and your compliments.

I used my R9/DMR combination for all the images. The bird pictures were taken with either a 560/4 (the scrub jay) or a 800/5.6 (thre rest). The sunset picture was taken with a 35-70/2.8. I did bring my tripod for the long lens on the hike, so it wasn't a long or arduous hike. I'm not able to carry as much weight now that I've been 26 years old for a good number of years. :)

Thank you kindly, Kurt.

I do miss your posts with the long tele shots. However, it seems you're having fun with the M8. I sure could've used one last night. The light weight and better low-light performance would have been great at my son's 11th birthday dinner at the dimly-lit restaurant. I assume that's your daughter on your avatar. Don't they grow fast?
