Summarit 35mm vs. Ultron 35mm 1.7

This has probably been discussed 1000 times before.......I am trying to decide which 35 lens to buy. I have narrowed it down to the summarit 2.5 and the CV 35 1.7 . Sean likes the CV and I am leaning towards that means I would have 3 CV lenses and no Leica. It might sound ridiculous but part of me wants to have at least one Leica lens so I can compare it in terms of feel and quality to the lenses I have. Am I crazy here? Any opinions are welcome.

Gary

PS I know many will suggest a Summicron instead but the examples I have seen for sale are either overpriced or in bad shape.

Look at the CV's bokeh. Do you like it? If so this lens is a bargain. Otherwise i own both Leicas 35/2.5 and 35/2 asph, as well as 35/2 v4. To me, the 35/2.5 is a must have if you don't miss the speed of a Summicron or a Summilux.

I have the Summicron 40mm which is my favorite walk-around lens for everyday use; a great little lens.

Also had both the Summarit 35mm f2.5 and latest version Summicron 35mm f2, which I sold when I bought a 35mm Summilux f1.4.

I've never missed the Summicron, however to be perfectly honest I really miss the Summarit, a wonderful lens! There is something very magical in the way the Summarit renders images. I fully agree with Ict, the Summarit is a gem and good value if you're not worried about speed.

I had a Summarit 35mm and it does indeed have a good sharp rendering to the image but I ended up selling it when I recently obtained my New Summilux 35mm FLE to help offset the costs.

I do miss it's compact size but I did find it's rendering a little clinical for my taste, however at such a good price it has it's merits

I used the summarit before purchase of a cron asph. And it is a great lens, I think it's on par with every other modern leica at a very compact size. You wouldn't be disappointed with the leica. Don't have experience with the ultron, but for the price, every voigtlander I've used are at least acceptable and some quite excellent lenses
