I forgot yesterday to wait the famous 3 seconds before launching the firmware (2.014) updating... Process started but never went to completion (no ending message)

Since then, I have my M8 transformed into a paperweight! When switched on the red light blinked once and nothing else, nothing, nada.

Tried battery in-out, card in-out, waiting 2 hours without battery inserted... etc... same result: dead!

Any tips before sending this doorstopper to its farm?

Note: this M8 have worked without any glitch since 3 years.

Thanks to any helper.

Thanks Jaap for your objective sentence...;)

I fill the same anyway halas.

@lct, thanks for replying, but as Jaap say, no button react, it is really a paperweight now.

BTW, one thing that Leica could introduce: a button combination allowing a "hard reset" type of action, like the one found on computers, or phones, or a lot of electronics devices.

Happy pictures all, lucky men with an M alive:D

Glad to read that you remain in good spirit. As door stoppers go; it really is quite a pretty one and should be quite a talking point.

Jaap; I'm not aware of the recovery process, but assume a connection between a coder and the camera's mother board? Is there no way to manage this process machine-to-machine via a server?

Yes Jaap, it is certainly the case. But why not to give the possibility to do a master reset to each LCA? OK, I am presently in France, so will wait up to my return in Geneva to see how to manage the trouble (must say that I am not a professional).
