LUF Admin Posted August 6, 2011 Share #5 Posted August 6, 2011 May be it was the newsletter yesterday. Sending out about 30,000 mails and the resulting forum visits slow the server down a bit. Andreas
stunsworth Posted August 7, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted August 7, 2011 Thanks Andreas, but I'm still having problems with the speed. I thought it may be a router problem - though other sites are fine - so I tried accessing the forum on my iPhone using a 3G connection, and that too was timing out from time to time. prunelle Posted August 10, 2011 Share #11 Posted August 10, 2011 The forum got completely stuck this night, about 2am Paris time. It lasted a few minutes only but I think you should know.
andybarton Posted August 10, 2011 Share #12 Posted August 10, 2011 That's the forum telling you that you really should be in bed Sometimes, the database does a back-up at around that time. It used to slow considerably at one minute after midnight here, for around 10 minutes.

ho_co Posted August 11, 2011 Share #14 Posted August 11, 2011 The forum got completely stuck this night, about 2am Paris time.... Anne, that's the same time it regularly slows to a crawl for me, 1900 Central Daylight Time in the US. It hangs up for five to ten minutes before getting back to normal. I thought it might be Andreas running a backup. Or maybe it's the CIA sucking all the intelligence from the forum.
k-hawinkler Posted August 11, 2011 Share #15 Posted August 11, 2011 Same here at 1800 Mountain Daylight Time in the US. K-H.

thompsonkirk Posted August 16, 2011 Share #20 Posted August 16, 2011 Still very slow yesterday & today (Tues PST) – especially with Manage Attachments. Upload seem to fail about 1/2 of the time? 'Uploading File(s) - Please Wait' goes on to infinity. Or are my pictures that bad this week, & the server is exercising its aesthetic judgment?
