Â Several years ago I purchased a product that essentially was clear plastic tape (similar to Scotch tape on a roll) which was cut to fit the various surfaces of a Leica M body. Only a small portion of which I found useful, that being the piece which was designed to cover the top plate next to the rewind Crank/Knob and the piece which covered the baseplate. The rest of the camera was of course protected in a half case. I have searched the net lately and have been unable to relocate a source for this same item. Does anybody know where I might again find this very useful product again? Has anybody even heard of this item or used it? I have those on my little Porsche and its quite nifty and you can barely tell its there.  Wish i had it installed on my Mustang when it was new back in 2002... Poor thing has paint chips left and right now  You might have some chance here: Aki-Asahi Camera Coverings  I have been directed to that website awhile ago to purchase 'transparent protection' for Leica M's. Cameras were also available in all kinds of colors, leathers, gold plating etc - all factory original. You just had to ask when ordering. Â over 10 days would suggest to me that he makes them up as he gets orders which with a mistake in fabrication in one his pictures would lead me to say, he is just making it up as he gets orders.
