3 old (aircooled) Beetles, 3 screwmount Leicas, 3 film Ms, 3 R series Leicas...

A pristine 1958 Bug (with a heavily modified 2000 engine), faster than stink,

a 1972 which I bought because it was pristine, never touched, rust-free piece of shit,

a hand-built sports car with $10,000 in the VW T-1 engine which is also a piece of shit now.

And something like 9 Leicas. I won't order the rank of their quality except to say the older they are, the more work they require.

Just like you and I.

1 German car, 4 German cameras (and associated lenses), many German CDs, happy memories of several German holidays, a subscription to a German photographic magazine, 1 wife who speaks fluent German (as well as French), and a dose of German measles as a child.

I own several Leicas, have a Linn hi-fi and used to drive a Lada (until I was no longer able to defend my principle of my car not costing more than the tonearm of my hi-fi turntable)

I guess I feel more cosmopolitan ...

German camera,

American (designed) computer,

Japanese car,

Italian bike,

Swiss watch, and

Australian wife.

And my Leica Disto is made in Austria.
