Lord Fluff Posted July 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I never got round to ordering my two free IR filters from Leica when I bought my M8, and as I'll be selling it soon I should get them ordered now, and recover a few quid selling them. So, anyone know which sizes are either the most expensive to buy, or sell for the highest price used? Thanks guys
Advertisement Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Hi Lord Fluff, Take a look here Which size IR filters have highest resale?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 4, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2011 Don´be disappointed, if your plan doesn´t work out dear Lord ! Could well be, they stopped dishing out these filters for free by now. M8 production has finished years ago and I simply can´t imagine there are any filters waiting for you ... best GEORG
Lord Fluff Posted July 4, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted July 4, 2011 Well, it is still showing as available in the 'benefits' section of my owner's page at Leica...
jaapv Posted July 4, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2011 Yes, afaik they are still available and personally I would regard them as part of the package. I dis when I sold off one of my M8s. The most useful would be 39 and 43 mm, but why don't you leave it be, as the next owner will be able to claim them as well. It would be an extra selling point. Lord Fluff Posted July 4, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted July 4, 2011 Yes I did ponder doing that - my feeling though is that it won't actually translate into my getting more for the camera. There's actually a lot of IR filters out there now - I managed to get most of the ones I own thrown in when I bought used lenses, and I think that's almost expected now (in the UK at least), but I was wondering if there were any unusual sizes that might be worth a bit more. pgk Posted July 4, 2011 Share #6 Posted July 4, 2011 Odd sizes might be worth more (because they are harder to find used and because there are fewer of them) but there are fewer buyers for them - 2 x E46 should shift quickly or E39.

I would claim the benefit now and as you wish, sell them separately. 39 and 43 mm is most people needed
john_newell Posted July 4, 2011 Share #8 Posted July 4, 2011 Hard to say what will be most valuable as a resale. There are at least two variables, filter cost and filter demand. I needed a pair of E55 filters and made those my "free" filters, but if no one out there needs an E55 filter you won't sell it.
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 4, 2011 Share #9 Posted July 4, 2011 What JAAP said, leave it to the nxt owner. In case he has more LEICA- lenses, this would come handy. You can be glad to get 50% of the LEICA- prices on E b**. It´s good LEICA still feels responsible, cudos ! best GEORG

jaapv Posted July 7, 2011 Share #11 Posted July 7, 2011 Please don't turn this into a want to buy/want to sell thread. In that case I would have to delete it; the forum is maintained partly through the revenue of the buy-and-sell section, so this rule is maintained strictly.
