IkarusJohn Posted June 19, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In some of the speculation on the M9 forum, there was speculation that a chrome lens in Andreas Kaufman's hand was a 35 mm Noctilux. This got me thinking in a very dangerous way - dangerous for my finances Is such a lens possible or likely? Much as I am ambivalent about the Noctilux-M 50, a 35 mm version might be very interesting. Presumably it would be slightly smaller, though probably not any cheaper. Cheers John Damn - typo in the heading. Can a moderator change the heading to 35? Advertisement Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here Noctilux-M 35 mm f/1:0.95. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Michael Geschlecht Posted June 20, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2011 Hello John, It's certainly optically & mechanically possible. The question is: Is it economically & logistically feasable @ this time? Best Regards, Michael
luigi bertolotti Posted June 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2011 Well, CV made a 35 1,2 that isn't a monster of wiight & size... so, in absolute terms it ought to be possible to stretch such a design of half a stop and branding it as 0,95... achieving the quality requested for a Leica made lens (which probably would carry a stellar cost) is another matter. But would be a fine surprise (I remember that time ago also a 14mm was rumored...)

It wasn’t; it was a regular (but chrome) 50 mm Noctilux: https://www.leicashop.com/catalog/editions.php?language=en.
Paul Verrips Posted June 21, 2011 Share #5 Posted June 21, 2011 In some of the speculation on the M9 forum, I think Leicaforum is not worth it's name...... Speculationforum is a better one.
