stuny Posted June 12, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted June 12, 2011 Wonderful. The only way to get shots this good of flamingoes, since they are so shy and wary, is in zoos or in the Galapagos.

Telyt2003 Posted June 13, 2011 Author Share #6  Posted June 13, 2011 Fantastic gorgeous colors. Thanks, K-H.  Thank you, K-H., stuny, pauledell, Karl-Albert, the (reddish) colours have probably been a bit enhanced by the M8. This Telyt 200/4,5 is the last lens for which I still don't have an IR-cut filter (E48) when using it with the M8 and Visoflex. a.noctilux Posted June 13, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted June 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Telyt, Very nice picture. Â May I ask how you manage to mount the X1.4 Apo-Extender-R on the Visoflex + M8. Â Arnaud
Telyt2003 Posted June 14, 2011 Author Share #8  Posted June 14, 2011 Hello Telyt,Very nice picture.  May I ask how you manage to mount the X1.4 Apo-Extender-R on the Visoflex + M8.  Arnaud  Hi Arnaud, the simpliest possibility to combine the Apo-Extenders-R with the Visoflex lenses, is to adapt it via the common adapters - if you have all the necessary adapters. In the case of the Telyt 200/4,5, a lens originally made for the Visoflex1, the "simpliest" formula is:  Telyt 200/4,5 lens - OUBIO - 14167 - Apo-Extender-R - 22228 - Visoflex2/3 - (digital) M-camera.  Depending on where you insert (one) additional ring 16469/OUFRO you get a macro lens which can be focused from approx. 1,4 m to below 3 m. With this adaptation, you get a 'macro-at-a-distance' with a quite narrow focusing range, because you insert additional tube length (via the 22228 adapter and the greater depth of the Visoflex2/3 as compared to the R's mirror housing).  For sure, it is easier to - really simply - adapt an R-(compatible) camera directly after the extender. Thereby, the combination can be focused to infinity: Telyt 200/4,5 lens - OUBIO - 14167 - Apo-Extender-R - (digital) R-(adapted) camera.  Best, Telyt2003  (OUBIO: adapts Visoflex1 lenses to Visoflex2/3, 14167: adapts Visoflex2/3 lenses to R-cameras, 22228: adapts R-lenses to M-cameras/Visoflex)  PS: There are possibilities to avoid the additional tube length (e.g. the macro effect) allowing to focus to infinity with such a combination. I posted them elsewhere in the forum formerly, but as it looks will have to re-post them, because the respective posts disappeared or did not appear. a.noctilux Posted June 14, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks a lot Telyt. Â So the secret is adapter 22228. Â I have used it for R "normal" and wide lens on my M bodies. If I remember well, I could not use the x1.4 Apo-Extender-R (R only mount) with 22228 (Leicaflex mount on front). Â Now I have a road book to try that. Maybe I will swap R to SL mount on 22228. Telyt2003 Posted June 17, 2011 Author Share #10  Posted June 17, 2011 Hello Telyt,Very nice picture.  May I ask how you manage to mount the X1.4 Apo-Extender-R on the Visoflex + M8.  Arnaud  Hi Arnaud, Oops, checked my protocol: the above said on the set-up of the macro version of the Telyt with Apo-Extender-R is correct, BUT the flamingos in my photo where too far away to use this macro version.  For this photo, I actually have combined the Telyt 200/4,5 lens on M8-Visoflex2/3 with the 1,4x Apo-Extender-R in such a way that the focus range (from close ~ 3,5 m to infinity) was not restricted! The result is a very compact, relatively light-weight 400 mm equivalent focal length for the M8. Please see my related post in the M8 forum on how to do this 'bricolage', if interested: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/1738367-post1.html  Best, Telyt2003
