Thank you Robert,Tri,Geaibleu and Paul for watching and commenting

I went two days ago to see the illuminations. Usually I never go because there are too many people.

It was great.:)

I went with my M8 and M9.

I am almost 30 meters from the cathedral and it was pitch black (11 h p.m.).

The previous photo is normally where we see a movement sequence of zooming inside the cathedral. The photo does not give that impression.

For Robert, Tri,Geaibleu and Paul two links :

Hi Robert and Tri,

The Reims cathedral is roughly contemporary with the cathedral of Chartres, Amiens and Paris, but I think she is more beautiful than the cathedral of Paris with its many sculptures.

(Paris has less)

if you come here, send me a PM,you are welcome

Quite puzzling!

It's so well done that it's impossible to know wether one looks at 2 images blended together, or wether one part of the church is used as a screen.

Could you please explain?

Yes that's right Geaibleu,

is a puzzle of "slides and zoom": each part of the facade of the cathedral (statue, rose ...) is enhanced. It really gives an impression of movement on a height of 80 meters.

It's very impressive

Henry,

A dazzling picture with the lovely colors and effects. It appears to me to be a double exposure or some other innovative process. However you did it, it is remarkably beautiful.

Paul

Paul,

With a Leica, the pictures are really high quality

Remember I took these pictures at 1250 ISO without flash.

With my M9 I'm not (it's blurry :D) but I will come back to take new pictures with my 28mm Summicron and my 35mm Summilux

Thanks for looking Paul

Henri -

A lovely set. it reminds me when member GDB took us to see the illumination at Chartres. I have some photos from that on our site, in the Chartres and Area gallery.

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for your nice comments. Merci.

That's right for Chartres Cathedral : can you post some pictures here ?

Thanks
