I am sure someone will help. http://i5.pbase.com/o6/93/720693/1/73995330.X2CJrsTM.L1000665web.jpg
Advertisement Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Hi jonathangraham, Take a look here Owl II Vlux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted February 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2007 Joanathan - Excellent catch. Terrific details, color and selective focus. I'd be tempted to crop out about half the space to the right.
stuny Posted February 5, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2007 Jonathan - I tried a crop:

svenning Posted February 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 6, 2007 Dear Jonathan Graham, Wonderfull picture (!) Which Leica lens did you use to produce such a nice picture? All the best - Svenning, Denmark.
Guest maddin Posted February 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 6, 2007 I liked the un-cropped version better. Gives a bit more space for the balancing act;)
jonathangraham Posted February 6, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted February 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear Jonathan Graham, Wonderfull picture (!) Which Leica lens did you use to produce such a nice picture? All the best - Svenning, Denmark. I used the Leica/Panasonic Vlux-1. The 400mm equivalent is a lot of fun and a great addition to my regular Leica m7. The vlux-1 (and I assume the FZ50) can take wonderful pics if the exposure is correct and the iso is 200 or less. farnz Posted February 6, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 6, 2007 Jonathon, excellent detail and you've caught they eye very well. The bokeh is interesting - is this typical of Vlux images at the long end of the lens? Pete.
jonathangraham Posted February 7, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted February 7, 2007 The bokeh is interesting - is this typical of Vlux images at the long end of the lens? Pete. Yes, wide open at the long end the out of focus areas are quite pleasing, but the focus must be very accurate.
leicamann Posted February 7, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 7, 2007 I like the space aroud the first shot..I would PS out the unsightly log and keep the space..the "swirls bokeh" is characteristic of the 500mm mirror lens ..but no..its the Vlux..hmm same distortions in the bokeh. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
luigi bertolotti Posted February 7, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 7, 2007 I liked the un-cropped version better. Gives a bit more space for the balancing act;) I also agree, the wonderful eye is right to stay centered in horizontal: it's the catching element of a very fine pict; maybe even better in a quad frame (but risk one thinks taken with Hasselblad oh oh...)
