Cleopatra is a young adult Golden Eagle who was found near death from West Nile virus. Her health was restored but the virus destroyed her near-distance vision, so she cannot see clearly enough to catch prey or even land safely. wildlightphoto Posted May 25, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted May 25, 2011 Doug, another marvelous set from you. How does the Eagle survive? Her first several months in captivity were terrifying but Cleopatra has learned to trust her handler and now (unusual for a raptor) she looks forward to his attention. She now works as an education bird and is comfortable around most people.

ddp Posted May 26, 2011 Share #13 Posted May 26, 2011 Stunning color. The DMR/APO combo in you hands is sublime. I can't agree more. We are now 6 years out from the DMR, correct? I've said this many times before, but the images from the DMR are on another level comapred to what else is out there. They seem to blend the gap better between film & digital than anything I have really seen. Doug - excellent shots!
