Guest Posted May 24, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2011 very nice, but I prefer Britisch Racing Green. May I have a look of the specific front lamps?
stuny Posted May 24, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2011 Neal - I've seen at least hundreds of these since they came out in about 1958, but never a straight side shot, which is quite charming, especially with Lambertville type (perhaps not Lambertville, but near it and of the same vintage) backdrop. My camp counselor, an Amherst student, fell in love with an advert for it and popped his fall tuition on one. Imagine what Amherst costs per semester today. likalar Posted May 24, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 24, 2011 Nice photo of this beauty. I havn't seen a real one in years. Was it called a "bugeye" Sprite? Larry

pauledell Posted May 24, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 24, 2011 Neal, The first is a great shot but the "face" shot gives it its personality. Paul

J_Thompson Posted May 25, 2011 Share #8 Posted May 25, 2011 Nice shots, Neal, of a nicely restored example. I loved the way the entire hood (bonnet) assembly opened to allow full access to the engine. In my youth I really wanted one of these, but it was just not to be as my legs were too long to fit. Thanks for bringing back the fond memories.

Thanks for bringing back the fond memories. I don't know, my son is 6'4" with long legs and he can drive it with no trouble, when he works on them he has to test drive. As long as he doesn't have to put the top up he's fine.
Rona!d Posted May 25, 2011 Share #10 Posted May 25, 2011 How nice a little car could look like back in the old days A friend of my dad had one, he was an excentric guy and fit perfect in it. Even for me as a kid, this thing looked like a "toy car".
kkochheiser Posted May 25, 2011 Share #11 Posted May 25, 2011 Thanks for the memories! I had a friend back in the late '60s that had one with an Alfa 1300 engine. A bit frightening to drive. Kent
