Great if you can make it Martin.

I have now made us a reservation at the Norfolk Arms for 1:30 - 1:45 for lunch for about 12 people. I am asked to update them as to numbers as soon as I can. So more (or less) will not be a problem.

I have put the location link here in case anyone is late and simply wants to come at lunchtime. The Menu is Tapas style so one can eat as much or as little as one wants.

Hi,

I'm staying in Broxbourne for 3 weeks occupationally and would like to join your London meeting. As soon as I open my mouth everybody knows I'm German, but hopefully you don't mind.

Looking forward to meet you,

Carsten from Hamburg, Germany

I live further up the same rail line, so we might end up travelling on the same train. Off to Belgium for a few days tomorrow, but I will check the forum on Friday to make sure that the plan has not changed.

Best regards,

Doug

Hi roydonian,

which rail line are you going to use, will it stop at the Theobalds Grove Rail Station?

Otherwise I'm thinking of using the Underground starting at Cockfosters.

Take care,

Carsten

I will be taking the train from Stansted airport to Stratford. This will stop at Tottenham Hale (where I will switch to switch to the underground). This train will call at Broxbourne at 9.25, but not at Theobolds Grove.

Best regards,

Doug

Fortunately, the underground will work on 16th of July. Otherwise, I don't know how to go to there from the Waterloo station. :D

Hi Vo

The quickest method would be to take the Jubilee Line to London Bridge and then change on the Northern Line to Moorgate, from where it is a short walk. I'll be coming into London Bridge myself, so it might be possible to meet up there if you wish. Send me a PM if you want to make an arrangement.

Make sure that when you buy your ticket you get it with a Travelcard option so that you can use the underground without having to pay the extortionate single fare each time.

Regards

Mike

Hmm! - looks like I may have to up the numbers for lunch! :D

Hi Brian, would you be kind enough to include me as I'm 99% sure of making it. Museum of London, 11:00am on Saturday the 16th; right?

Look forward to catching up with everyone again.

Correct Tom, glad you can make it! :)

Apart from myself, I make the list as follows (name or nickname):

Noel

Vo

Seeingeye

farnz

Alan

Tom (+Eileen?)

Louis

Tim B

Martin EB

Roydonian

gravastar

photoallee

MPerson

AndyBarton

This makes 15 + 2 possibles. I would appreciate it if you could let me know by Thursday if anyone is NOT going to proceed to the Norfolk Arms for lunch.

For those that are unfamiliar with the area you can find a Map here.

Unfortunately it does not lead one through the maze of the Barbican Estate so beware if you venture therein! :D

If anyone wants to come by car there are public carparks in Aldersgate Street, Silk Street, Beech Street.

Going from the Museum to the Norfolk Arms will probably mean that we will have to go to Moorgate tube, thence to King's X/StP and a short walk. Barbican Station looks like it will have no services at all on the 16th..

Hi Brian, sorry, should have mentioned that Eileen will not be coming on this one. It's not that she doesn't want to, but she sings in a choir and they are giving a concert on Saturday evening and so practising on Saturday afternoon.

Not to put a damper on things but my weather forecast app says it will be raining most of the day. Of course, you can't always trust forecasts as Michael Fish knows only too well.

Umbrellas up! Longer in the bar then! :D:eek:

But weren't we intending to "flash mob" St Pancras station after lunch?

If the Met Office from this far out says it's going rain, that normally means it will turn out fair in my experience. Should the forecast does actually prove correct on this occasion, we will still be covered.* We'll be in the museum during the morning and on St Pancras station during the afternoon. Of course, there would always be the opportunity to test the weatherproofing (or not :D) of our cameras and go for some reflection shots in the puddles.

Regards

Mike

* Sorry, could not resist a poor pun.
