Nice to hear you'll join us Andy!

I suggest that we meet at, say 11:00 am at the Museum of London to take in the exhibition of Street Photography.

After that, well I knew that the really adjacent London Wall Bar/Resto would not be open, but I had hoped that The London Pig in Aldersgate St. right beside the Museum would be, but it won't be.

So I suggest that we all head for St. Pancras where there are a profusion of eateries, but busy.

Alternatively some might recall an interesting pub a few streets away from St P where we had a pleasant lunch/drinks a bit a la Spanish IIRC. A return might be good and it might be easier to get a table there. I could reserve places if we all thought it might be a goer?

Answers here please!

Please note that if you're planning to arrive at the Museum of London via Barbican or Moorgate tube stations they will be affected by planned engineering works on the Central, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. It looks like St Paul's tube station will be unaffected.

Map of affected lines here.

To avoid any possible confusion, according to the TfL advice Moorgate tube station will not be closed, but there will be no service on some of the lines that serve it. So someone travelling to Moorgate on the Northern Line would be OK, for example. Travel to St Paul's will only be necessary if that is the most convenient option taking into account the lines that are still running. Whilst TfL does not specifically state that Barbican will be closed, the point is moot as all the lines that go through there are suspended that weekend. :D

Incidentally, the link provided references 17 July, but the planned works will also affect travel on the day of the meet on 16 July.

Regards

Mike

That's peculiar; I made sure to select 16th and not the 17th and did a straight cut and paste from the address bar so it's not down to a senior moment.:)

Edit: Oh I see what's happened: the TFL website uses an 'absolute offset' date, ie 4th July (when I posted the link) +12 days but now the date has clicked over to 5th July so the link shows planned engineering works for 17th July and tomorrow it will show planned engineering works for 18th July etc.

Antony Robbins, the Museum Head of Communications has very knidly offered to give us a guided 45 minute tour. I propose to accept his invitation, and suggest that we start the tour about 11:30 am.

Good work, Brian, that should certainly add a lot of interest to viewing the exhibition. Thanks for organising it.

If we meet at 11:00 in the cafe, that will allow time for refreshments beforehand.

Regards

Mike
